The Houston real estate market is up and booming as never before. The most attractive feature of Houston property market is that the city includes dozens of neighborhoods that range from intellectual to artistic to casual to college-centric. We have localities which boast of large, expensive homes, whereas areas that offer more traditional homes also which suit the family style living.
Kingwood
Kingwood is one of Houston’s most rapidly developing suburbs. It is a master-planned community developed by the Friendswood Development firm. Kingwood features “Greenbelts,” a place for the leisure activities of citizens. In recent years, several national retailers have moved stores to a Kingwood location, thereby bringing about a steep increase in popularity of Kingwood amongst other suburbs.
One draw-back may be the house prices in Kingwood which are a touch above the national average. The suburb also has excellent educational institutions, recognized by Texas Education Agency.
Clear Lake
Clear Lake’s development was accelerated by the fast developing aerospace industry of’60′s. Even today it is one of the major revenue drivers of Houston. It has also gained popularity due to the proximity to the activity-rich Kemah Boardwalk and Galveston Bay areas.
Kemah Boardwalk is thronged by city dwellers that come here to have a relaxed picnic. Populated with a wide variety of games like skee ball etc., it never fails to give its money worth to people on a sunny day. The boardwalk also has arrangements for shopping and eateries to suit the needs of people.
The more practical plus-point for the families living there is the Clear Creek Independent School District, which has been honored as a “Recognized” school district for six consecutive years.
Sugar Land
Sugar Land initially came into focus because of being the home base of Imperial Sugar. But today, Sugar Land is the fastest growing of Texas’ 45 largest cities. It has been documented that the suburb has more than 2,300 restaurants, 80 theatrical troupes and over 50 public libraries in its 30 mile radius. Sugar Land also proudly displays its eight outdoor parks, built for the enjoyment of its 70,000 strong population. Experts suggest that there would be further increase in the outdoor activities as this has been the trend with most Space City suburbs.
Coming to the educational front, the Sugar Land School District has received high ratings from the Texas Education Agency, and last year was named one of the 100 best school districts in America in which to obtain a fine arts education.
